Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment Latest Update For 2014/15 Job Applicants: The Comptroller-General Has To Say Something About This

Victims of the 2014 ill-fated Immigration Service Recruitment stampede from Edo State have threatened to drag the federal government before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in the Hague, over what they described as social injustice and total neglect of applicants that died and those wounded in the exercise.

Besides, the victims through their counsel/co-ordinator, NIS Victims, Edo State, Edmund O. O. (Esq), also alleged that the Nigeria Immigration Service, Edo State Command is making frantic efforts to delist or outrightly substitute them from the true victims list and replace them with cronies that were never affected.

They said the immigration victims have discovered that the command is parading a list of five victims only from the ill-fated exercise, adding that their major challenge now is getting their lawyer to meet one-on-one with Edo State comptroller of immigration, Mr Kayode Alana, to discuss the matter as all efforts to meet him have always met with brick-walls.

“We beg the Edo State comptroller to expressly implement the presidential directive to the letter; else, we will have no choice than to seek legal redress even if we have to go to the International Court of Justice in a bid to stop this social injustice that is being planned,” they said.

The victims, however, commended the Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for his intervention in the matter, adding “he is the only one who has shown enough interest in our plight to call us, commiserate with us and made gigantic efforts to alleviate the suffering of the victims by donating N2million to the three children of the late applicants.”
