While MI and his label mate, Ice Prince are not happy that a blogger, Nobel Igwe, compared their music, their boss, Audu Maikori, has refused to say anything concerning the latest issue.
Over the week, the internet went abuzz because popular rapper, Ice Prince vented his anger at a blog for comparing him and his mentor, MI. While reviewing his recently reviewed EP, trash can, the author compared both artistes’ dexterity but this didn’t go down well with the label mates.
They both took to their social media accounts to show their anger at the owner of the blog. Ice Prince in a series of tweets said, “My Old G Noble Igwe! You and your blog shld stop comparing my music with my brother and Teacher MI. I’m not tryn 2 be greater than MI. Stop! If you get to see this Tweet! Take note for the last time my old G! Me and MI and everybody around that is deeper than Music. That’s blood! And to evry1 else dat cares to knw! I can never ever ever ever compete with MI. It’s deeper than Music. Same parents or not! MI is blood! And for the record, MI is the greatest Rap Musician 2 come outta this side! I’m who I am because I was taught and brought up by the greatest (sic).”
Giving the drama some twist, MI also defended his label mate by going on instagram to air his opinion. He wrote, “When the greatest calls you the greatest!!! Everybody knows Noble Igwe is my friend. But @iceprincezamani is my brother and I reject any entertainment culture that consistently tries to put us against each other, rates our creativity without credibility or objectivity. We’d rather tear down than build each other and I don’t agree with that. Family over everything!!”
Their label boss, Audu Maikori, was called to react to the internet frenzy but he did not pick the calls made to him.
Maikori later reached Saturday Beats via Blackberry Messenger but declined to comment. When probed further, all he said was, “no comment.” All efforts to make him talk proved abortive as he kept saying, “nothing.”
Meanwhile, MI and Ice Prince didn’t pick their calls and didn’t respond to text messages sent to their telephone numbers as of press time.
