The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, was on Saturday, 7th February 2015 coronated the the 57th Emir of the Kano Emirate. He rode on his royal stallion to the Coronation Hall in the Government House where the ceremony held. After the coronation, he rode out in the vintage 1952 4-door Rolls Royce Silver Wraith convertible.
Going by history, this 63-year-old Rolls Royce was passed down in 1953 to the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero who died on the 6th of June 2014. The late Ado Bayero inherited it from Emir Muhammadu Inuwa. This Rolls Royce has a 5-litre straight engine Hooper body. It was used to transport the Queen of England, and the Duke of Edinburgh during their official visit to Kano in 1956.
