These are the most sought after universities in Nigeria according to figures released by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.

Our correspondent has it that the figures represent the amount of application requests sent to universities in the country for offers of admission in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for the year 2015.

The figures are an addition of candidates’ applications from 1st to 4th choice for each institution.

1. University of Ilorin, Ilorin – 107,488

2. University of Benin, Benin – 71,496

3. Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka – 70,609

4. University of Nigeria, Nsukka – 66,788

5. University of Lagos, Lagos – 62,472

6. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria – 60,237

7. University of Ibadan, Ibadan – 47,497

8. Bayero University, Kano – 46,801

9. Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife – 43,965

10. University of Jos, Jos – 41,286

11. University of Uyo – 41,645
