Ashafa Wins Lagos East Senatorial Seat

Senator Gbenga Bareehu Ashafa of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has won the Lagos East Senatorial District election.
The incumbent Senator polled 181,221 votes to defeat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who polled a total of 126,350 votes out of a total of 307,571 votes cast.

By that margin, Senator Ashafa won with about 60% of the total votes.

Here is a summary of the result as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC:

Epe- APC: 19,283, PDP:16,066

Shomolu – APC: 43,995, PDP:34,804

Ibeju-Lekki – APC: 11,950, PDP:11,038

Ikorodu – APC: 49,926, PDP:29, 868

Kosofe – APC: 56,067 , PDP: 34,574

Total- APC: 181,221, PDP: 126,350

Total Votes Cast : 307,571.
