In a similar fashion to President Jonathan’s, The Kaduna State Governor and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday’s gubernatorial election, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has conceded defeat to his opponent, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Yero called El-Rufai at exactly 3:00pm on Sunday, even when results from four local government areas were still being expected from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s headquarters in Kaduna.
The Spokesperson of El-Rufai Campaign organisation, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed that Yero called to concede defeat and congratulate El-Rufai at about 3:00pm.
Aruwan said, “He (Governor Yero) congratulated El-Rufai and wish him success, he prayed for peace and development of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
“El-Rufai in his response thanked Yero and wished him all the best, saying, he hope to see him soon.”
