PUNCH Metro learnt that the 46-year-old, who lectured at the Orile Agege study centre of the institution, demanded N10,000 each from the men.
It was learnt that the workers, Abayomi Rasak and Hambolu Olorunleke, had graduated from the college in 2013 and were awaiting their results.
They, however, met with Temiye over the matter, saying they needed their statement of results for promotional purpose at their place of work.
The suspect reportedly promised to assist them to get the results.
The two graduates of Automobile Technical Education were said to have been issued with the forged results which they presented at their office to upgrade their levels.
The bubble burst after the NPS sent the statement of results to the FCET for verification.
The technical institution, after checking from its records, discovered that the results were forged, leading to the arrest of both Rasak and Olorunleke.
The institution also said the suspects were part-time final year students.
The two suspects, however, denied complicity, insisting they were graduates and were duly issued the results by their lecturer.
Rasak, an indigene of Kogi State, in his statement to the police, said he paid N5,000 for his statement of result.
He said, “I spent four years in the college to study Automobile Technical Education and submitted the statement of result to my office after I met my lecturer.
“He demanded N10,000 for the result, but I paid him N5,000. He later gave me the result. On April 20, 2015, I was told that the statement was fake.”
Olorunleke, who said he studied in the school from 2009 to 2013, said he never suspected anything was wrong until he was summoned by the police over the result.
He said he paid N10,000 to Temiye.
The police, who were alerted by the Chief Security Officer of the FCET, reportedly called the attention of the coordinator of the Orile centre, who produced the suspect.
The lecturer upon his arrest, allegedly confessed to the crime, saying he acted in error.
Temiye said the two former students put pressure on him to issue the statement of results.
He said, “They told me they might lose their jobs if they did not get the statement of results. And since they had been good to me, I decided to help them.
“I used the letter head paper of the school to issue the results.
“I have learnt my lesson and I ask for the forgiveness of the authorities.
“I did not ask for any money from them. They gave me the money in appreciation.”
On Wednesday, Temiye, was arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court on six counts of forgery and stealing.
The charges read in part, “That you, Bola Temiye, on September 23, 2014, at the FCET, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did forge NCE Automobile Technical Education statement of result to one Abayomi Rasaki.
“That you, Bola Temiye, on September 23, 2014, at FCET, Akoka, Yaba in the Yaba Magisterial District, did obtain N10,000 from one Hambolu Olorunleke, and issued him a forged NCE Automobile Technical Education statement of result, knowing same to be forged.”
The police prosecutor said the offences were contrary to sections 361 and 320, and punishable under sections 363 and 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offences.
The Chief Magistrate, P.A. Ojo, admitted him to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till July 20, 2015.
