Following the press conference by traditional chiefs at his palace in Ile Ife who debunked the death report of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, mourners have continued to troop to his London residence to condole with his family.The hospital on Harley Street where he was admitted has been a beehive of activities. In a related development, an official of the Nigerian High Commission in London told Daily Trust in London yesterday that the Ooni was actually dead. The official said: “He passed away yesterday (Tuesday) at 5 pm. There is no doubt about it. It is true. I have just paid a condolence visit to his two wives and children. The high commissioner also paid a condolence visit to the family earlier today (Wednesday).Most of his grown-up children are here (in London). There is one Dr Seyi Sijuwade. She came from America. She is a medical doctor. I’ve condoled with them all. I am familiar with most of them.”
