FORMER EDO STATE GOVERNOR, JOHN OYEGUN EMERGES APC CHAIRMAN!

The National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ended in the early hours of today with new national officers elected while some were appointed unopposed with last-minute political moves.

A total of 6,855 delegates were accredited to vote at the convention. Former Edo State Governor, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, was elected unopposed as the National Chairman of APC after ex-governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva; ex-Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi; Chief Sam Sam Jaja, all stepped down.

A PDP decampee and former Ekiti State Governor, Chief Segun Oni, emerged the APC Deputy National Chairman South unopposed, while interim national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed (North Central), was widely expected to retain the post, and Mr. Muiz Banire (South West) also expected to retain his national legal adviser position he held in interim capacity.
