Multiple award-winning pop artiste, Tuface Idibia, is one singer who is loved basically for his talents and more for his humility.
Tubaba, as he is fondly called, endeared more fans to his already overflowing fan base, when he became a Red Cross Ambassador.
In an investiture ceremony last Friday in Lagos, a partnership between Idibia’s Million Voices for Peace Campaign and Red Cross Society of Nigeria was announced.
The partnership with the Red Cross Society of Nigeria seeks to explore areas of collaboration in raising awareness on the needs of persons affected by violence in Nigeria with the aim of mobilising support for them. Through this initiative, 2face joins a list of renowned celebrities who have shown commitment in speaking up for some of the world’s most vulnerable groups.
Mr. Umoh, the Lagos zonal programme officer for the Red Cross Society of Nigeria expressed the hope that 2face’s example will inspire others to show more commitment in supporting ongoing peace efforts in the country while mobilising support in aid of affected victims of conflict in Nigeria.
Speaking at the investiture, Tuface said, “Today we take a big step in improving the plight of internally displaced persons in Nigeria through our partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross society. My colleagues and I have followed closely the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross Society and I must confess that we are inspired and excited at the chance to support this cause.”
Some months back, a song ‘Break the Silence’ was released by the Million Voices for Peace campaign. Saturday Beats gathered that proceeds from the sale of the song will go towards supporting the work of the Red Cross Society of Nigeria.
