HOW 25 RIVERS STATE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS DEFECTED TO APC!

How Rivers Governor, Rotimi Amaechi got 25 loyal members of the 32-member Rivers State House of Assembly on his side is being described as a political master stroke at a time when several APC State Governors are sitting on the edge over impeachment threat.

Having been a Speaker of Rivers state House of Assembly from 1999 to 2007, he is said to have known  what it takes to understand the needs of law-makers and he quickly got the 25 members feeling happy and the rest is stories  that they have publicly declared defection to All Progressive Congress political party.

With the death of ex Speaker Tonye Harry, the opposition PDP members are now 6 and they cannot carry out any impeachment since they have withdrawn from the activities of the House of Assembly which had relocated inside Government House old Banquet Hall /auditorium as the New Assembly Complex has been under lock and key due to the fighting and several litigations going on in the courts of Rivers State .
