Already, the church has moved to acquire the whole of Akerele Street, directly opposite the church. The church authorities then went on to hold a meeting with all the landlords in the area to bid for their property offering several millions of naira the least being 40 million naira. Most landlords sold out, not being able to resist the mouth-watering offer. One landlady has however stood her ground refusing to sell out to the church despite pleadings, even from her children, friends and extended family members. Their pleas have fallen on deaf ears as she claims that the land is a family heritage that cannot be sold for whatever amount. She repeatedly forbade any of her children to sell out the property on no reason even on account of her death. While this building appears to stand as an obstacle in the expansion, people are speculating as to whether she will sell out because the church has not relented in its efforts to buy off the property. The thinking is that she may not be able to resist a huge amount if the church decides to up their price for the property.
