In Ogun PDP, Dimeji Bankole And GNI @ War!

All is not w ell in Ogun PDP, as the leaders of  the party are at daggers drawn. For the past 2 weeks now, it’s been one abuse by one faction against the other. Last week, former Speaker of House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole described Gboyega Isiaka as a fake People’s Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate. Bankole stated this through a statement issued by the Dimeji Bankole Movement, signed by Kayode Akintunde in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital. Bankole was reacting to the recent protest by the people from Ogun State against alleged plan by the national leaders of the party to upturn his victory as the party governorship candidate during the primary held recently. Ogun West people led by Chief Ayo Otegbola had staged a protest, warning the party against replacing their kinsman with Bankole who they alleged did not obtain any form. Right now, both Bankole and Isiaka are at each other’s neck. Whilst Prince Gboyega Isiaka insists that he is the authentic governorship candidate of Ogun PDP, Bankole says he is the choice of the party. A powerful faction of Ogun PDP members from Yewa are opposed to what they call the behind the scene moves currently being made by some members of the national working committee to make Bankole fly the party flag and impose the former Speaker on the party.
