The Lagos state government hospital, Yaba have refused to released the corpse of the 15-year-old fish seller, Sarah Ibikunle who got unfortunately killed during the Lekki robbery.
The family of the deceased have been requested to bring N100,000 as fees for embalming their daughter’s remains.
The family who cannot afford the money have cried out to the government to come to their aid as they cannot afford the amount.
One of the family members said that: “We have been told to come back on Monday (today). I wish they will release her remains and let us bury her. We have no way of raising the N100,000 they are requesting, unless they want to add to our sorrow. The money cannot bring our loved Sarah back to us. The government should come to our aid.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos State police spokesperson, DSP Kenneth Nwosu disclosed that the families of the policemen who died from the incident will be receiving entitlements of the cops according to their respective ranks.
