DESIGN MANAGER

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES OF POSITION:
Co-ordinate the design functions of the Project to ensure completion of high quality IFC / AFC drawings in accordance with time and cost constraints to achieve project objectives and meet customer’s expectations. Particular emphasis on management of producing multi-discipline deliverables and effective coordination of other Designers.
Proficiency in 3D software for preparation of 3D Models, auto-generation of  MTOs, detection and modification of clashes between piping, equipment, cable trays, and structural members, extraction of 2D drawings from 3D Models and general presentation of projects.
Co-ordinate all design to ensure desirable deliverables are produced.
Co-ordinate with CAD System Administrator that all attributes in the 3D model will allow smooth production of 2D drawings.
Work directly with the Project Engineering Manager to ensure the right Designers are assigned on the project.
Co-ordinate with all Discipline Lead Engineers, CAD System Administrator, to ensure the relevant design standards are used on the project.
Ensure that deliverable review cycles are adequately completed and relevant Discipline Lead Engineer signed off on deliverables before they are issued.

EDUCATION – QUALIFICATIONS, ACCREDITATION, TRAINING:
Academic qualifications Bachelor of Science in any related Engineering Field.  A minimum 8 years' industry experience in Oil and Gas Facilities designs and coordination.

HSE Capability:
Commitment to safe working practices and ability to promote safety consciousness within the department.

IT Skills:
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

People Skills:

Other Relevant Information
• Ensure that the standards used on the project are acceptable to the client and that appropriate approvals of drawings are obtained.
• Prepare the weekly report information.
• Refer any major problems during a project’s duration to the Project Engineering Manager.

ENGINEERING MANAGER

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES OF POSITION:
To oversee engineering operations in the organisation and ensure engineering activities are executed to meet international and local requirements in terms of technical, quality, schedule, budget, and safety considerations.
Co-ordinate and manage multi-disciplined engineering team on Onshore/Offshore project(s) for all engineering activities and deliverables and ensure they are produced to the correct level of quality and in accordance with the project plans, procedures, codes and standards.
Ensure technical compliance with all design requirements, specifications, codes and standards is met.
Ensure project deliverables are achieved on time and within approved budget.
Ensure delivery of engineering design integrity/technical integrity.
Promote the training of the engineering and liaise with Corporate Manager of Engineering on personnel training and development.
Coordinate the review and approval of all project (Engineering related) documents on relevant phase of Project. Manage the estimation of Cost, Time and Resources required to effectively produce engineering deliverables, monitor and control budgets and schedules with the Project Manager throughout the life cycle of the project.
Effectively manage changes in Engineering work scope and initiate change management process as appropriate.
Ensure that personnel and engineering tools are available when required.
Coordinate and supervises all matters related to Engineering planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
Attends and contributes to Safety Analysis, design reviews, HAZOP and HAZID.
Liaise with client Engineering Manager / team to establish technical direction on the project when necessary.

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
Professional engineer with substantial experience and expertise in upstream Offshore Oil & Gas sector and multidiscipline engineering management skills Substantial proven experience of engineering management gained with notable design contractors in FEED and detailed engineering design.

REQUIREMENTS INDUSTRY SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical / Mechanical / Civil/Structural / Electrical/Electronics or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years minimum experience in Onshore/Offshore topside design in the Oil and Gas  industry. FPSO and Subsea engineering experience will be added advantage.
An extensive current Engineering Design Management experience gained with notable design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the petrochemical industry particularly with respect to onshore/offshore oil and gas installations.
Must have the capacity to work under pressure and manage the work within tight schedules.
Apply an awareness and willingness to work as a team member.
Must comply with HSE and quality requirements including periodic Audits at the project and corporate level and ensure compliance of same by subordinates.
Ability to coach and develop staff for engineering management.

INTERFACE MANAGER

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES OF POSITION:
Provides input to the development of engineering scope, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitoring progress to maintain those schedules and budgets.
Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the Project with other Project Engineers; Coordinates the assignment of personnel from other technical and project support groups within the Company.
Assist the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of the technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study; Helps determine the technical skills and staff hours required.
Understands the client's business goals and objectives in order to enhance the project work and align the project team with these goals and objectives.
Prepares technical reports, and execution plans for sub-project activities, workshop charter, project manuals, and documentation of activity for the client and management. Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and stewards Issues and Action items to ensure timely closure.
Review subcontractor / vendors documentation – plans and procedures, technical specifications etc.
Obtain, analyse, and circulate technical and contractual information to engineering and other disciplines. Ensures compliance with Organisation Management System, as well as application of change control process.

LEAD CIVIL ENGINEER

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE POSITION:
• To ensure Health, Safety and Environment has the highest priority in all activities undertaken by Engineering and Design personnel.
• To supervise the work of the discipline engineers and designers.
• To allocate engineering resources in order to complete all deliverables for the discipline within the allocated staff hour budget and schedule.
• To provide all necessary input to the project control and reporting system, including attending review meetings, maintaining the progress report for the discipline, liaising with the project planning engineer for discipline progress planning, and preparing the discipline section of the monthly report.
• To prepare the discipline project design criteria prior to the commencement of any engineering or design activities.
• To arrange for the preparation of all discipline design deliverables including layout drawings, detail drawings, schedules, specifications, datasheets, calculations requisitions and technical tender evaluations in accordance with the project requirements and the company procedures and standards.
• To specify and select appropriate equipment to allow the project to develop a practical and economic design
• To ensure technical integrity of design deliverables for the discipline
• To ensure that all document checking and design verification tasks have been, completed in accordance with the company and project procedures before formal document issue.
• To review and approve the design documentation prepared by the discipline
• To ensure conformance with customer requirement
• To liaise with other design groups, and to coordinate the discipline activities with other groups to achieve the overall project design objectives in the most efficient manner
• To provide discipline input to the project key documentation during squad checking, or by the issue of key documentation change requests immediately the discipline activities create or identify the need for a change to those documents

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field) and 5 years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience within a large Engineering firm is required. Professional registration with COREN and/or NSE is also required.

IT Skills:
Proficiency in STAADPro, SACS, Mathcad, et.c to complete engineering assignments

People Skills:
Proven capability for managing a large number of personnel and/or complex technical situations is required, as well as familiarity with industry practices and current technology.
Requires communication skills to be able to successfully work in a team environment and communicate effectively with other disciplines.
